1. ActiveX is a standard designed by Microsoft to make the Internet/Intranet content active and supported by many industry leaders. Small, medium and large software companies currently create ActiveX controls, including companies such as Borland, Oracle and Sybase/Powersoft. (Office runs within the context of the browser, user still need Office on the client machine) And with IA Office doc could be easily translated to HTML doc and publish on the Internet/ Intranet for non-Office users.

4. User needs to analyze and collaborate on content, in addition to just view content with a browser. Office is the best tool.
