This course is primarily open for the students of department of computer science. If any sutdents from outside department would like to select this course please check with me.
The major contents of this course are introducing the basic concepts of operatins systems. They includes why the operatins systems can be regraded as resources manager. More detailed are process management, InterProcess Communication (IPC), memory management, page replacement algorithms, file systems, I/O devices, deadlock. Finally, two examples UNIX and MS/DOS will be discussed.
There is a group project for students to run and the final on-site test will be scheduled at the end of the semester.
