Biographical Sketch


Dr. Yuh-Jong Hu is a Full Professor of the Department of Computer Science of the National Chengchi University. Prof. Hu received the BA degree in Applied Mathematics from the National Chengchi University in 1980. After serving two years in army, he went to the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and received a MS degree in Operations Research & System Analysis (ORSA) in 1984. From 1984 to 1987 he was a member of the research staff at the network planning department, telecommunication network laboratories( TL), DGT, Taiwan where he did research on Common Channel Signaling (CCS) No. 7 network. He received Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Missouri at Roll ( CS-UMR) in 1991. From 1991-1993, he was an Associate Professor of the Department of Management Information System (MIS) of National Chengchi University. During this time he did a research in Open Information Systems, especially in Open On Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) systems. In 1993, Yuh-Jong Co-Founded the Department of Computer Science of the National Chengchi University. He was an Associate Professor during 1993-2002 of the Department of Computer Science. On Augest-1/2002, he was promoted as a Full Professor in the same department. He was a member of the New York Academy of Sciences. He was among one of the Best National Chengchi University Researchers Award lists in 1994. He was in the Marguis 1995 Who's Who in the World. Now, he is a member of ACM and IEEE on Computers,
